Emergency First Aid at Work

Emergency First Aid at Work – FAA Level 3 Award – 1 day

Duration – 1 Day (minimum of 6 hours)

A minimum of six contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities. (this can be split up into 2-hour sessions)

Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

 

Syllabus

A range of subjects include;

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Resuscitation/Defibrillation
  • Burns
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Choking
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Minor injuries
  • Seizures
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid
  • Bleeding control
  • Shock

Assessment

Assessment is ongoing by the instructor by practical observation and oral questioning.  A three year Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.

Certification
It is recommended that, during the 3 year period, delegates attend annual refresher courses.

Certificates will be posted promptly once full payment has been received.

Venue

All courses can take place at your venue or in a suitable nearby location.

All costs are based per person and include course booklet, resuscitation mouth shield and certification.
