AED Defibrillation

AED Defibrillation – FAA Level 2 Award (CPR & AED) 1-day

This very practical course will enable learners to use the automated external defibrillator (AED) competently and with confidence. Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but it also includes vital training in resuscitation and choking procedures.

Duration
A minimum of six contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities.

Syllabus
A range of subjects are covered including:-

• Responsibilities and reporting

• Resuscitation

• Choking

• Assessment of the situation

• Heart attacks

• AED safety

• Dealing with an unresponsive casualty

• Infection control

• Paediatric defibrillation

• AED functions

• Defibrillation procedures

Assessment 

Learners are assessed practically and orally throughout the course, as well as the completion of a multiple-choice question paper at the end of the course. The Instructor will only award a pass if they believe that learners have displayed the requisite understanding and competence at the end of each session throughout the course and successfully completed the question paper.

Certification
This qualification lasts for 3 years.  It is recommended that, during the 3 year period, delegates attend annual refresher courses.

Certificates will be posted promptly once full payment has been received.
